ONE DAY TRIP TO SELANGOR

yesterday i followed my school buddhist society to Dong Zen Temple at Selangor. we departed early in the morning at 7am and reached Melaka at about 10pm.

this is what happened beside me on the way to the temple. ohhhoo yesterday Senior Jonathan stole chicken kah?? xD

we arrived. this is the entrance of the Dong Zen Temple.. we were welcomed with their open arms.

firstly, we were brought to the praying hall of the public and told that that is the first place to go for the visitors. it named "大雄宝殿". i dunno what it called in english because there is no specific name of this hall in english.

side of the praying hall..

big praying hall..

nearer shot. it is totally an awesome place! i love it :D

our loving Buddha is sitting in the middle of the hall. 2 sides of the hall was hung with 8 big frames. we were told the life of Buddha by a nun, or what we call them "Master" as the title of respect for Buddhist priest accordingly to the frames on the wall. sorry again no english name. there are 降兜相, 托抬相, 降生相, 出家相, 降魔相, 成道相, 说法相 & 涅磐相..

this is the 说法相 which means Buddha is saying Buddhist scripture to the people. Buddha had done this for 45 years.

after that, we were grouped into 5 groups. sorry the names are in chinese which were 成功的条件, 无形的可贵, 人生的精彩, 前途在哪里 & 有机的可贵.. i was in the fifth group ^^ there were reasons why these names were choose by the ppl as our groups' name. they are meaningful! then, they teach us to dance :) about 5 min only. short but happy and nice dance =D

thn they brought us into a room. hmm almost like lecture room. whoa better than the rooms i enter in my school xD we were taught the customs and ways when consuming foods and the rules we must follow in the eating hall. sounds strict but i personally dont hate it or feel it is lebih.. instead i learn something new :)

after that we go mam mam la sure. they provide us vegetarian lunch. then, we had a walk guided by the commitee of theirs. we got to walk one by one in a line, raised head, swang hands, and big-step-walk(actually moderate only). it is like walk without vexation or shame. doesnt like the gadis-gadis goyang the buttock while walking(they called it walk with the buttock).. lolz.

then, they brought us to the Buddhist scripture's copy hall. everyone of us was given a piece of paper where there are meaningful phrases or the things we should do in our life on it. thn, we got to use the writing brush to copy(actually follow the shape only. so it is no problem for those who dont know to write chinese word)

my masterpiece ^^ hohO~ nice? xD haha.. hmm i'm going to laminate it :)

then, we were brought again into the lecture room. we were given a short talk and video sharing. Dong Zen Temple needs 1000+ volunteers to help them during new year. wesak day too i think. anyone who interests or wish to help can do so. before going out, they gave us 2 books together with a ournament as the souvenir. NICE ok!! :D

later then, they brought us to visit around the Dong Zen Temple. i'd snapped down the pretty scene. here are them..

sotong is buat bodoh-ing xD

besides the one in the praying hall, another big Buddha is located near the entrance.

small Buddhist pagoda..

Dong Zen College. a place where student learns Buddhist scripture.

Dong Zen garden.. there are 12 animals symbolizing the year with a small Buddha at a side too in this garden..

small pond and fountain in the garden..

this is a wishes pond. it located at the middle of the variety poses of Buddha.

peacock plant. there are 2 actually. each was put at the side of the wishes pond.

Buddha seems like thinking..

a stall of Dong Zen. pretty not? =)

after that we went 舍利殿. it is a 3 floors building. 3rd floor is the place where Buddha's corpse is put. actually not corpse la (sounds bad ==!), it is totally different from us human being. in chinese we call it "舍利子".. it is a round shape transparent particle (a part of Buddha's body). very small only. we cant take picture and talk or make noise in this room. we have to respect the Buddha. this is the rule ^^

this is the building.

then, we were asked to share the fruits :) aircond! very hot le outside. actually there are air conditioner in every room and hall.

lastly came to an activity. it is "press flower"??? 压花.. dunno what it called in english. actually this activity is not included in our list but because this activity is carrying in Dong Zen that time, so we could have the chance to join :D a NICE NICE NICE experience. guarantee most of us never do before! and the teacher is came from taiwan. rare chance ok..

we were given a word and a pack of flowers. u need to put the word and decorated with the flowers. you dont want to put the word in also nvm..

my masterpieces ^^ haha.. sorry art bad.

all of our masterpieces can be brought back. what a nice one :D

we left Dong Zen Temple at 4+pm. the Master and ppl in charge came out with us. they saw us leaving. Amitofo. i'm sure i will go Dong Zen again! i love Dong Zen :D

bye bye ^^ hope to see you soon..

he headed to AEON Bukit Tinggi to shop. shop by our own, didnt need to follow the group of commitee.

we had our dinner at here, Kim Gary HongKong Restaurant. quite expensive le the foods. cheapest RM11+.. will pok mann.. this shop has a promotion where a person's birthday is just 7 days before or after the date he/she goes to makan, 6 person can enjoy 50% discount. i enjoyed the 50% off haha..

this Shu Jin senior laa ^^ her birthday is on 26th June. so i got the discount heehee.. we sang birthday song to her too. happy belated birthday! :)

the one who is pressing hp was our leader! he is in charge of this trip. a GOOD leader named Jason :D praised by the Master of Dong Zen Temple too..

views of the small garden of AEON Bukit Tinggi..

my joker of the day. Sotong Wei Han. haa. thanks for joining this trip too ^^

finally, we started our journey back to Melaka at 8pm..

Zhi Qiang senior. haha. last snap before going back.

we did not sleep in bus. instead we sang on the way from KL to Melaka. can you imagine? most of us sang until no sound. haha.. our president and this Zhi Qing senior were the guitar players.

in short, this is the best trip i've never joined before. i totally enjoyed it. it is free of charge ok this trip. what a worth trip ^^ hope to have such meaningful trip again. waiting for you ok Buddhist Society leaders haha.

k la, end here. take care everyone :)
